Tree Commission & Its Members
The Cambridge Tree Commission consists of six volunteer members appointed by Mayor Tom Orr and works in conjunction with Tom Lanning, the Director of Public Service.

On April 28, 2015, the Cambridge Tree Commission attended this year’s Tree City USA Banquet held in East Palestine, Ohio. The City of Cambridge was recognized for its 35 years of participation as a Tree City USA Community!
Our Mission
We are responsible for selecting, planting, preserving, removal, and replacement of trees on public property within Cambridge, Ohio. The Commission conducts research, planning, and feasible assessments required to promote the composition of trees within our beautiful City.
Who Should I Contact with a Tree Issue?
To report a tree issue, please contact Melissa Chambers, of the Public Service & Safety Department located at City Hall, by calling (740) 439-1240. Melissa will obtain specific details regarding the tree(s). A Commissioner will be assigned to inspect the tree(s) and then offer recommendations regarding the resident/property owner concerns.
Meeting Time & Location
The Commission meets every third Thursday of the month at 9 a.m. Meetings take place at the Street Department located at 1700 Burgess Avenue. The normal length of the meeting is approximately one to two hours, and the public is always welcome to attend. If you wish to present an agenda item to the Commission, please contact Melissa prior to the scheduled meeting you wish to present.
